Meet the cast and crew of Kiss Me Kate

Jerry Jobe

You may have seen Jerry in Atlanta productions of "Whodunnit" at Theatre in the Square, "Sweeney Todd" with the Phoenix Theatre, or "Cabaret" with Gwinnett ACTA. If so, you've got a great memory, since it's been 18 years since he's "trod the boards". Prior to that, his experience was mostly in musicals like "Fiddler on the Roof", "Guys and Dolls", "West Side Story", and "Bye, Bye Birdie". He lives a sedentary life as a computer programmer these days with his wife Susan, interrupted often by manic bursts from his daughter, Amy.

Kim Maugans

Kim Maugans is happy to be returning to for her 3rd production with Arcado Community Theatre. Kim has taught chorus for Gwinnett County Schools since 1986. Her favorite theatre roles include Ms. Malloy in "Hello Dolly", The White Witch in "The Lion, the Witch, and The Wardrobe", the Mother Superior in "Nunsense", and Smitty in "How to Succeed in Business without Really Trying."
Mary Carolyn Stough Mary Carolyn, a graduate of Fordham University's theater program. has been actively involved in theater since 7th grade. Although her maturity level hasn't changed much since then, her theatre repertoire has grown considerably. She is happy to be back with Arcado for a 5th show and looks forward to many more great shows with ACT.
John Lukens John Lukens is proud to be a part of ACT and would like to invite all theater lovers to join and participate either on stage or off!  Prior appearances with ACT include such roles as Mr. Hassler (“The Pajama Game”), Mr. Bratt (“How to Succeed in Business”), and Elisha Whitney (“Anything Goes”).  Additional appearances at Tucker First Methodist include “The Sound of Music,” “The Ark,” and others.  He thanks his wife Karen, and children, David and Libby, for allowing him the time away to be in this play.
Craig Coleman Craig Coleman (Harrison Howell).  This is Craig’s first production with Arcado.  However, he is no stranger to community theatre having worked both on and off stage in dozens of shows in Middle Georgia, most notably as:  Jamie in “Robber Bridegroom,” Dick in “Dames at Sea,” and Sir Evelyn in “Anything Goes.”  Craig credits his mother with his love of stagecraft for dragging him, reluctantly, to work on his first show as a curtain puller in 1970.

Paul Durden

Paul is an ACT veteran since '93.  He is a member of the board of directors and set designer / carpenter.  This year he gets to ham it up as Baptista, the father of Kate.  "I now specialize in father roles as I've turned into gray bearded old fa## "  In his spare time, Paul rides a Goldwing motorcycle, sings in a choir,  power walks (up to 15 k), and is into Geocaching (using a GPS to find hidden "treasure").
John Derck John Derck (First Man).  This is John’s third year with ACT.  He’s just returned after and extended engagement playing the third Munchkin from the right in “The Wiz of the Boz in Hoboken.”  With the help of his chiropractor and the rack, John hopes he can rise to the measure of his character.
Scott Allen Scott Allen (Second Man).  This is Scott’s first adventure into musical theatre.  He wants to thank his kids for not burning his “Brush Up Your Shakespeare” CD, ACT for having an open mind, Goran for spreading word of his newfound celebrity, Jerry for singing so well, and that guy who sung about prisoners in “Hair” that got him interested in musicals in the first place.  Most thanks to Rockland’s Fair Maiden and The Lady of the Lake.
Deborah Foster

Deborah Foster (Hattie) has been with ACT since “Fiddler,” appearing as Bloody Mary (“South Pacific”) and as Princess Winifred (“Once Upon a Mattress”).  She has also performed with bands around the southeast in the late ‘70’s.  Deborah is a substitute teacher for Gwinnett County Schools and a mother of four.  She thanks Ben for all his support in letting her be a part of ACT each year.

Nathan Minor

Nathan Minor joins ACT this year for the first time. He is excited to return to theatre after a long hiatus. Nathan would like to thank his wife Brandy and his family and friends for all the support they have given. Nathan also provided the website and online ticket sales for ACT this year.
Jeremy Stephens

Jeremy Stephens (Gremio).  This is Jeremy’s first experience with ACT on a road filled with (hopefully) many more experiences with the company.  He is a Psychology major at Georgia State University with a minor in theatre.  He was most recently seen in Georgia Perimeter’s Theatre Arts Guild production of Antigone.  In his spare time, Jeremy enjoys being with his newlywed wife, Caroline, and playing tennis.

Matthew Jennings

Matthew Jennings (Horensio) is happy to be rejoining ACT for his second show.  He wishes to thank Todd for his unending support.  Here’s to Another Op’nin’!  Myrna, can I cut my hair now?
